While attending Lindenwood University, I took a Print Design course that asked us to create a zine, which is better known as a smaller magazine. For this assignment, we could design anything as long as it was the dimensions of a zine. I wanted to design something I have an interest in, so naturally I chose sneakers. Already knowing that there are many different limited edition Nike dunks, I tried to collect some and showcase them in my zine. Starting in Photoshop, I removed the background on each image of the shoes so I could change the background to any color. Each page is designed in the same layout, using the color of the specific limited edition dunk. I was inspired by the Pantone color palettes to create a frame highlighting the main colors on each shoe. For the font choice, Reenie Beenie is a fun, unique script font that adds a graffiti feel. I used Futura for the paragraph sections and the headings as it is easy to read and simple.
